RYE Cafe Tuggeranong sits comfortably in South Point on Anketell Street, Greenway, serving as a favored spot for locals looking for a solid breakfast or a leisurely coffee break. This cafe has carved out its niche as a reliable go-to for those who appreciate thoughtful, well-crafted meals paired with friendly, warm service.

The atmosphere at RYE feels casual but attentive, with staff who consistently bring genuine smiles and a willingness to accommodate — something locals seem to notice and value, especially families with little ones. It’s the kind of place where the barista remembers how you take your coffee and where a simple extra biscuit for a child is offered without fuss, making it welcoming for regular visits.

Breakfast here draws particular praise, with egg and bacon rolls standing out as a crowd favorite that balances great flavor with approachable pricing. The menu shows attention to detail in dishes like scrambled eggs with mushrooms and whipped goat cheese or kipfler potatoes, offering a slightly different twist on typical cafe fare without straying too far from comfort food territory. For those seeking lighter or fresher options, there’s also word-of-mouth acclaim for salad bowls and ricotta pancakes, both prepared with care and eye for presentation.

Coffee lovers will find solid quality here — while not aiming to wow as specialty coffee purveyors might, RYE’s brews consistently satisfy, including options like extra shots for a stronger cup. A good variety of drinks complements the food menu, making the cafe suitable for early mornings, mid-morning catch-ups, or even a casual lunch stop.

Frequent visitors especially appreciate the welcoming vibe and efficient service that make RYE easy to swing by regularly, whether locals who come every fortnight or first-timers who quickly decide to return. Its location just off the highway makes it an accessible pit stop for those who live in or are passing through Tuggeranong, offering a reliable dining moment away from the busier city center.

Best times to visit seem to be weekday mornings or weekends when families and local workers drop in for a hearty start. It’s a place that fits naturally into daily routines, whether for a solo coffee or breakfast with a small crew, and offers enough variety to tempt repeat visits.

Halloumi and avocado is delicious! First time at Rye Cafe and I can guarantee that we will come back. Service is great, staff is super friendly and they were serving everyone with a big smile on their faces. Great coffee and a good variety of drinks. I would suggest Rye Cafe to sell their spicy jam they use in some of their dishes.

December 2022 So if you look at me you know I eat. This place has the best ever egg and bacon roll. The flavours are incredible. Plus it's one of the best priced rolls around. The coffee was great but not incredible. Saying that I will be coming back. February 2023. So we now come every fortnight since we live on the other side of town. This place is incredible. I change my review from 4 to 5 stars. The coffee is incredible. The food is off the chart. Top quality food with ample servings. You won't be disappointed coming to this place. Love the staff All are so friendly.

Went there last Friday, we ordered a Bacon & Egg Roll with coffee deal and it was absolutely delicious. The Bacon & Egg was cooked to perfection & coffee was nice & strong as we asked for an extra shot & it was done right by the new barista. Lady who served us was very friendly & even gave my little girl an extra biscuit to keep her occupied. Thank you & we will be back soon to check out other items on the menu!

Rye has become my most frequently visited cafe. The menu is a little different which I appreciate, and my favourites are the scrambled eggs with mushrooms and whipped goat cheese - amazing. I also love the kipfler potatoes dish. The tea pot is a very generous sites and gives me 3 cups. The staff are always friendly and service is efficient.

Pull off the highway, go into Tuggeranong, and get a full meal at Rye. My whole family and I got our meals and we’re absolutely blown away and impressed by the quality and care put into the food. The tastiest salad bowl I’ve ever had in my life, and the ricotta pancakes were divine. Somehow everything was perfectly cooked and placed beautifully on the plates. It was just truly exceptional. Absolutely no complaints on the food end. The service wasn’t exceptionally fast, but once the food arrived we were not at all bothered by the wait. Service was charming and attentive, just amazing all around.

Who knew the smoothest mug of coffee was down south?! Well, Tuggeranong has come a long way since I was here last. The colourful coffee machine caught my eye, so had to see if the barista knew how to work it, and wow kudos to the Sunday morning barista and chef! That was probably the best egg and bacon roll I've had in ages! Very reasonable pricing as well.

The food was nice, though the dutch pancakes I found too eggy for my tastes and the cherry, brought out a bitter sweetness that isn't my thing. My companion tasted my pancake dish, and said it was delicious, just going to show we all have different opinions on the foods we like. They, had fluffy scrambled eggs, with goats curd. Referring to them as top notch and excellent, and we're merely hiding the true star of the show upon their plate. The mushroom were awesome. The Belgian mocha was also enjoyable.
